About me

My name is Chloe and I am a qualified Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor working in the Eastbourne area. I work therapeutically with adults, as well as children and young people from age 6 upwards.

Person-centred counselling is a non-directive approach developed by Carl Rogers. In line with the approach, I work holistically, seeing each person for who they are and holding a space which is non-judgmental and led by you. The person-centred approach has the fundamental belief that the client is the expert on their own life, therefore whilst I do not offer advice, I do work collaboratively with you, building a relationship of trust and a space where you can explore difficult thoughts, feelings and issues. I believe that everyone strives to be the best they can be and with the right conditions, change can happen and you can reach your full potential.

I have worked with young children for 18 years and have moved into working therapeutically with children and young people in a counselling setting.

I am passionate about working with children and young people and providing a safe space for them, where their voice will be heard without judgment and they are accepted and valued as they are. Sometimes for children and young people it can be difficult to find the words to describe feelings or experiences, life can feel overwhelming and confusing. I work in a way which suits each individual whether that be in a way which is creative, playful or simply talking through to explore ‘their world’ in a calm environment. I believe that trust and building a therapeutic relationship is paramount to our work together and I work at their pace to form this. Through our sessions together, I aim to facilitate a space where the child/young person can develop a better understanding and cope with their feelings, where resilience and self-esteem is increased and where they can go on to live a more fulfilling life.
